Hacking the PSP - Homebrew Central

Because Sony has continued to upgrade the PSP's firmware to lock out hackers and the ability to run homebrew, developers have been busy writing "launchers" to continue to let you run homebrew software. You will need different launchers for different versions of your PSP's firmware. To find your PSP's firmware version, go to Settings, then System, then System Information, and look for System Software Version and match it up to a launcher below.

While most homebrew is harmless, firmware upgraders and downgraders, and indeed homebrew applications themselves, can be high risk and possibly damage your PSP. While I provide you the files you need, you use them at your own risk. Enjoy!

Firmware 1.0	Firmware 1.5
No firmware launchers/modifications are needed to run homebrew for this firmware version.	Use the KXploit software (requires Windows) to modify homebrew applications to run on this firmware version.
Firmware 1.51-1.52	Firmware 2.0
Homebrew does not work on this firmware version. Consider upgrading to 2.0 with this EBOOT, which enables you to run many games using eLoader. Once you have 2.0, you can downgrade to Firmware 1.5 with these files (instructions are in the book Hacking the PSP).	With 2.0, you can downgrade to Firmware 1.5 using the instructions in Hacking the PSP and these files to run most homebrew applications. You can also use the eLoader to run many homebrew applications using Firmware 2.0.
Firmware 2.01-2.80	Firmware v2.81 and Beyond
Download the n00bz Team's eLoader to run homebrew on any PSP from 2.00 through 2.80. The latest verison of eLoader, v0.995, does not require Grand Theft Auto!	Stay tuned... Sign up for the email list on the home page to get notified when a 2.81+ compatible launcher is available!
